Gem Players Presents "Death of a Doornail"
Gem Theater-Downtown Historic Etowah
Back by popular demand! This mystery comedy dinner theater event was such a hit last year that we just had to see those zany characters one more time. Death of a Doornail has eccentric millionaire, Albert Doornale inviting all of his close friends to his estate, including his ex-wife Abigail, his current fiancé Candy Bombay, and his childhood friend from the lower East Side, Salvatore Carbond. Everyone arrives at the estate greeted by the grumpy Butler and cutlery carrying cook. The only problem is, Albert is not there, no one has seen him. Not his nerdy Nephew or his socially spoiled daughter. None of the guest has any idea why they are there or what happened to their host. That is until blood is found in the upstairs bathroom. Was Albert killed and carried away? In the nick of time, Inspector Bukowski arrives on the scene. A murder investigation will begin, as soon as body is found. It may be a long wait.

Cousin Jake Bluegrass Festival
Gem Theater-Downtown Historic Etowah
This festival of bluegrass music, named in honor of Cousin Jake Tullock, is held every year in March and located at the Gem Theater. Jake grew up in Etowah, Tennessee where he learned to make music with his family. After leaving home to make a career as a musician he landed a job with Flatt and Scruggs, playing bass and telling jokes. He traveled with Flatt and Scruggs for 20 years. Jake retired from the music scene and moved back to Etowah, where he served as a police dispatcher until his death. Come hear the music that Jake loved played. The festival is held at the Historic Gem Theater in downtown Etowah. There will be lots of jamming going on across the street at the L&N Depot Museum, so bring your instrument along. Between sets, pick up bargains at the many antique shops and outlets located in the downtown.

Bands performing this year are Grasstowne, Lizzy Long, Blue Ridge Grass, Tim Graves & Cherokee, Reliance, Just Us, Hiwassee Ridge, and Blue city Band. This event begins at 12:00 p.m. and is $15 for an all day ticket which is available at the box office the day of the performance.

Gem Players Presents "The Diary of Anne Frank"
Gem Theater-Downtown Historic Etowah
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award, and the Critic’s Circle Award and virtually every other coveted prize of the theatre, this impassioned drama is about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic. THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne’s voice shines through. A must see for this generation …
